Kulsum Rashid, Interim Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Hutchison Ports Sohar, accepted the award at the bank’s 13th Annual Partners in Progress ceremony held on 14 March 2018 at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Muscat.
Every year, Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, celebrates and recognizes the outstanding achievements of companies that have contributed significantly to the excellence and growth of electronic payments. For four consecutive years, Hutchison Ports Sohar has been recognized as a Best Merchant for its support of the regional card business.
Chief Executive Officer Albert Pang said, "Hutchison Ports Sohar is honored to be recognized as a key partner in fostering the development of innovative e-commerce tools in Oman. For our customers’ experience enhancement and convenience, payment processes like online banking and point of sale solutions will be integrated with the terminal’s web portal as well as its automated gate system. We partner with the Omani banking and financial community so that we can make our digital platforms available to customers as soon as possible."
Over the years, Hutchison Ports Sohar has invested a significant amount of time and money into digitizing work processes at the terminal. To enhance the flow of cargo and efficiency of payment, we are also implementing a landside digitization project (LDP). Together, the LDP and electronic payment solutions from Bank Muscat will contribute to the further growth of e-commerce in Oman.
